Fed up filling web based forms when shopping online or logging into email? RoboForm is the solution! If you’re not familiar with it, it’s a password manager which will keep all your passowrds safe and secure, whilst having them readily accessible. Roboform can be used to store a multitude of passwords for different internet sites and applications, replacing mind numbing form filling with a click of the mouse. Currently you can get a fully licenced version absolutely free (ish). I say free as you have to sign up for an offer from selected advertisers, you’re bound to have seen these sorta deals before where you get a freebie in exchange for a sign up, well it’s the same deal here but in this case the software that’s given as a reward is actually some of the most useful software available for windows users IMHO. I can’t find the link I used in the Roboform site but this link does work.

There’s a similar deal going on with Fox-it reader, a replacement for Acrobat reader, which has the same functionality but with smaller footprint, quicker loading and cheaper upgrades

You can get it free - I did! I chose to sign up for a free one week trial with “Simply Diets”, filled in all the forms (inc. my credit card details), had a look at the site and then checked my mail - within minutes the registration link arrived and I activated the pro version of RoboForm, and then went back to “Simply Diets” and cancelled my membership before the trial period was over - no charge and a free pro licence for Roboform - that’s a great result IMHO!So get on over to the Roboform site and do the same, you’ll soon be wondering how you surfed without Roboform, lol. And if you don’t want the hassle of doing that but do want the software then feel free to pay for it - I would even consider paying if there was a version for Linux! (yeah, that’s the only thing wrong with Roboform - no Linux version)

This is a fabulous little piece of software from High Criteria, I wanted to record some stuff online and looked at a few software solutions, such as SoundTap and Blaze Media Pro before settling on Total Recorder as my software of choice! Admitedly it’s not the prettiest looking (though the skins help) but it does do the best job in my opinion and worked so well I even went as far as registering the Pro version (wasn’t too expensive, around £18).
Total Recorder can record sound reproduced by other programs, including RealPlayer, Windows Media Player, iTunes, Musicmatch Jukebox, WinAmp, Internet telephony programs such as Skype, and many others, including streaming media from the net (In fact I couldn’t find a sound source I couldn’t record!). The reproduced sound can be either sound from local files being played back or sound from Internet transmissions. Total Recorder can use its own unique virtual sound driver to capture such sounds without any redundant conversions or loss of quality.

Most recordings can also be performed through a sound card’s “loop back” line if it has one. However, some tasks such as recording two sides of a VOIP (Voice Over IP, Internet telephony) conversation cannot be accomplished without a virtual driver. Another unique feature of Total Recorder’s virtual driver is that it will start recording only when sound is present, which eliminates the need to start recording and playback at the same time. Gaps in a recording, caused by an interruption in transmission, can also be eliminated.

The captured sound can be stored on a computer’s hard drive as either an uncompressed or a compressed audio file which is ready to play, or can be transferred to an audio CD or to a portable music player. Many sound formats are supported, including both MP3 and OGG.
