I’ve been busy downloading a few MP3 (totally legit of course - no dodgy sites here!) One of the best I’ve found is emusic, known of them for a few years but never actually joined up till recently, though I wish I had a while ago, it’s a great site with plenty to choose from and a good price plan IMHO, they also give you a few MP3s free when you sign up. I’ve been with itunes for a while and the two don’t compare, itunes music plays on your computer or an iPod (and is DRM protected and isn’t MP3 format), emusic is a simple MP3 file, playable on all MP3 players (ideal for those of us who don’t have (or want) an iPod!). You get a great selection from emusic, though “chart” music isn’t featured greatly so it’s ideal for the discerning music lover! As part of my introductory offer I downloaded the Dead Kennedys “Fresh Fruit for Rotten Vegetables” a classic of our time, which includes “Holiday in Cambodia”, great music IMHO. As well as the “paid for” tracks, there’s a host of free downloads, and unlike itunes free “single of the week”, the majority of it I like (and the stuff I don’t like isn’t too bad if you enjoy classical music!) so Why not give em a try, it’s free to sign up and you can cancel anytime, pretty sure you’ll find some awesome tracks and get a chance to hear some great bands you might not have discovered elsewhere.

I’ve been a member of last.fm for a while now, it’s one of those new fangled social networking website thingies and being a wrinklie, (but not quite a “Silver Surfer”, lol) these social networking sites are almost too much for me to comprehend, but last.fm is a blast - I like the fact I can play music on my PC and last.fm will generate a playlist from what I’m playing, allow me to get lots of info about bands, songs, albums or anything music related really. There’s some good MP3s for free download or just stream some content to your PC for a change? Why not take a look at my page and see just what I’m whittering on about!
